Brand ArchitectureEditorialVerbal Identity

The Grand Hôpital de Charleroi has undertaken a far-reaching review of its identity and brand architecture to clarify its network and make life easier for patients, care teams and staff. By moving from the acronym GHDC to the full name Grand Hôpital de Charleroi, the organisation affirms its status, raises its visibility and champions the mission that drives it.

Challenge

Created through the merger of several Charleroi healthcare institutions, GHDC faced a twofold challenge: unifying its image and giving meaning to a large-scale collective project. The launch of the new Les Viviers hospital provided an opportunity for deep reflection on its purpose, structure and brand image. The aim was to express the transformation of a hospital group through a strong, clear brand embodying both quality of care and the human dimension of its commitment.

Solution

The approach was built on a collaborative work involving management, medical teams and collaborators. The brand strategy has redefined the foundations of the collective project through a clear and shared brand platform. The evolution of the name to the Grand Hospital in Charleroi reinforces the legitimacy of the organisation and gives it new visibility. Visual identity, for its part, translates the philosophy of positive health, a state of mind oriented towards trust, progression and shared well-being.

Impact

  • Today, the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi stands as a modern, united and ambitious institution, dedicated to healthcare and constantly evolving.

A shared foundation

Brand architecture is based on a unique brand. This identity framework brings together all the sites, poles and services of the group under one banner, while respecting their specificities. This clear structure reinforces the coherence of the network, facilitates readability for patients and enhances the unity of the hospital group.

A legitimate emblem under construction

The new logo is based on two universal symbols, the H and the +, while integrating a structure inspired by the architecture of the new hospital. This open construction expresses the desire to evolve over time, to progress and to build a healthier future. The emblem becomes the sign of an institution in permanent transformation, both solid and optimistic.

A positive typography

The typography, designed specifically for the project, reflects the movement and energy of the brand. Its dynamic voids and open forms evoke continuous learning, openness and optimism. It gives the Grand Hospital of Charleroi an institutional and human tone.
